What is Pledle?
Pledle is an AI-powered reading companion designed for serious readers. It allows you to manage your book library, track your reading progress, and have deep conversations with artificial intelligence about the works you read.

Who can use Pledle?
Anyone over the age of 18 who loves reading books. The platform is currently available via web browser.

Is Pledle free?
Yes, the free plan is free forever. In the free plan, you can add 2 books and use 30 AI messages per month. You can check out paid plans for more.

What languages does Pledle support?
The platform interface is in Turkish. The AI chat feature is configured to respond in Turkish; however, you can also start conversations in different languages.

Is there a mobile app?
There is no mobile app at the moment. The platform is designed to work seamlessly on mobile browsers. A mobile app is on our roadmap.

Do I need to buy books to use Pledle?
No. Pledle is not a book-selling platform. You add the books you read, will read, or have completed yourself; the purchase does not happen through Pledle.


Account and Security

How can I register?
You can create an account with your email address by clicking the "Start for Free" button at pledle.com. After registration, a confirmation link will be sent to your email address.

I forgot my password, what should I do?
Click the "Forgot Password" link on the login page. Enter your email address; a password reset link will be sent. The link expires in 1 hour.

Can I change my email address?
Yes. You can update it from Settings → Profile → Email Address. A verification email will be sent to your new address.

How do I enable two-factor authentication (2FA)?
You can enable it from Settings → Security → Two-Factor Authentication. It requires Google Authenticator or a similar app.

Can I use my account on multiple devices?
Yes, you can log in to the same account from different devices simultaneously.

How can I delete my account?
You can delete your account using Settings → Danger Zone → Permanently Delete My Account. This action cannot be undone; all your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

I think my account security is compromised.
Reset your password immediately and enable 2FA. Then report it to support@pledle.com; we can investigate your account.


Library and Book Tracking

How do I add a book to my library?
Click the "Add Book" button on the library page. You can enter the book title, author's name, total number of chapters, and optionally a cover image URL.

How do I update my reading progress?
Click on the book in the library and enter your current chapter using the "Update Progress" option.

What do book statuses mean?
There are three statuses: "To Read" (not yet started), "Reading" (in progress), and "Completed" (finished). The status is automatically determined based on the chapter information you enter.

Why can I only add 2 books in the free plan?
The free plan is designed to offer basic features for free. You can upgrade to a Reader or higher plan to add unlimited books.

Where can I find cover photos?
You can copy and paste the URL of the book's cover image from Google Images, Open Library (openlibrary.org), or Goodreads.

I accidentally deleted a book, can I get it back?
Unfortunately, deletion cannot be undone. You will need to recreate the book and chat history.

Can I enter page numbers instead of total chapters?
The system operates on a chapter basis. If you prefer pages over chapters, you can enter the total number of pages as "total chapters" and your current page as "current chapter."


AI Chat

How does the AI chat feature work?
Select a book from your library and start a chat. AI knows the title of your book, the author, and the chapter you are reading; it generates personalized responses for you in this context. All responses are created via OpenAI's GPT-4o model.

Does AI really know the book?
AI does not "read" your book from Pledle. It relies on the information found in GPT-4o's training data. Therefore, you will receive more comprehensive responses about well-known works; for niche or less-known works, we recommend verifying the accuracy of responses with independent sources.

Can I ask the AI anything?
You can ask any questions related to the book and reading experience. However, AI is optimized for literary analysis. It rejects requests for harmful, illegal, or out-of-policy content.

AI sometimes gives wrong information, what should I do?
This is known as "hallucination" and can be seen in all large language models. Always verify important information with independent sources. If you report incorrect responses to support@pledle.com, you contribute to improving the system.

Is my chat history saved?
Yes. All AI chats are stored in the Supabase database associated with your account. Only you can access them. You can delete them at any time.

Does AI remember our previous chat?
Each chat session is contextually independent. AI remembers the last 10 messages within the same chat, but it does not remember conversations in different sessions.

How do I know when I've reached my message limit?
A notification appears in the chat interface when you reach the limit, showing the time remaining until the next billing period.

Does AI respond in languages other than Turkish?
The system is set to respond in Turkish by default. If you start a chat in a different language, the AI may adapt to that language, but this behavior is not guaranteed.


Spoiler Protection

How does spoiler protection work?
Based on the "current chapter" information you enter in your library, the AI automatically avoids giving information about upcoming chapters. This protection is active in every chat session.

Is spoiler protection 100% reliable?
No. The system operates on a "best effort" basis. Unintended information may be disclosed due to model behavior changes, indirect questions, or incorrectly entered chapter information. You can review our AI Usage Policy for details.

I entered the wrong chapter and encountered a spoiler. What can I do?
Update your chapter information from the library. The correct chapter will be taken as a basis for future chats. Past messages cannot be undone.

What if someone else gives a spoiler in the group chat?
What other users write in group chat is beyond Pledle's control. Determine your spoiler rules with participants before starting a group chat.

What do I gain if I switch to the annual plan?
In annual plans, you receive 2 months' fee as a gift. For example, in Reader, you pay $90 annually; this is instead of $9 × 12 = $108.

Is payment secure?
Yes. Payments take place over the PCI DSS compliant Lemon Squeezy infrastructure. Your card information is not stored on Pledle servers.

What payment methods are accepted?
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and PayPal in supported regions. All payment methods supported by Lemon Squeezy are valid.

Where can I see my invoice?
An invoice is sent to your registered email address at the start of the subscription and at each renewal payment. You can also access past invoices through the Lemon Squeezy customer portal link in the invoice email.

Is my plan upgrade effective immediately?
Yes. Upgrading to a higher plan takes effect immediately. Proportional credit is calculated for the remaining days of the current period and deducted from the new plan fee.

When does the downgrade take effect?
Downgrading to a lower plan takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will continue to use the current plan until that date.

Are prices VAT included?
No. Prices exclude VAT. Tax may be applied separately depending on your country and local legislation.


Cancellation and Refund

How do I cancel my subscription?
You can follow Settings → Membership Plan → Cancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; paid features remain active until then.

Will my data be deleted after I cancel?
No. Your data is protected, and your account switches to the Free plan. If you want data deleted, you must completely delete your account.

Can I get a refund?
Users subscribing for the first time can request a full refund within 7 calendar days of the start of the subscription. You can review our Cancellation and Refund Policy for details.

A renewal payment was taken accidentally, can it be refunded?
Automatic renewal payments are generally excluded from refund coverage. However, in special cases such as technical errors or double payment, you can apply to legal@pledle.com; your request will be evaluated.

What happens if the payment fails?
If payment fails, an email notification is sent and several retries are made. If payment cannot be provided within 15 days, your account is downgraded to the Free plan; your data is not deleted.


Privacy and Data

Is my data safe?
All data is transmitted with TLS encryption and protected with Row-Level Security (RLS) in Supabase. Only you can access your data.

Do my messages go to OpenAI?
Yes. When you use the AI chat feature, your message content and book context are transmitted to the OpenAI API. Your name, email, and payment information are not transmitted. You can review our Privacy Policy and AI Usage Policy for details.

Does OpenAI use my messages for model training?
OpenAI commits not to use the data it receives through the API for model training. We recommend reviewing OpenAI's own privacy policy for current information.

Can I download my data?
Within the framework of your right to data portability under GDPR, you can request a copy of your data. Write to privacy@pledle.com; a response will be given within 30 days.

How do I request my data to be deleted?
By deleting your account, you can ensure that all your data is permanently deleted within 30 days. To request only specific data to be deleted without deleting your account, you can write to privacy@pledle.com.

Does Pledle sell my data to third parties?
No. Your personal data is never sold to third parties.


Technical Issues

My session ends when I refresh the page.
Check if your browser might have blocked cookies. Session cookies must be enabled for Pledle to work properly. Allow cookies for pledle.com in your browser settings.

AI is not responding or is very slow.
This is usually caused by delays OpenAI experiences during peak times. Wait a few minutes and try again. If the problem persists, you can check OpenAI's system status at status.openai.com.

Cover image doesn't load.
Make sure the URL you entered points directly to an image file (.jpg, .png, .webp). Some sites may block external use of image URLs; try a different source.

The platform doesn't look correct on mobile.
Upgrade your browser to an up-to-date version. We recommend up-to-date versions of Chrome or Safari. If the problem persists, write to support@pledle.com with your browser and device information.

My chat history disappeared.
Verify that you are logged in to your account. History might be in another book chat; check the chat list. If the problem persists, write to support@pledle.com.

I found a bug or a security vulnerability.
Please report it to security@pledle.com. We thank users who report security vulnerabilities responsibly.
